Art City Austin Art Festival
SAL members at the University of Texas at Austin combined socializing with service at Art City, Austin’s art festival. They spent their time volunteering at three different activity booths at the Kid’s Block. These booths included Watercolor African Sunsets, Watercolor Science Art, and How to Make Prints. They enjoyed interacting with children and helping them create and play with fun art activities.
Volunteers were given a free pass to the event, so those from SAL who assisted were able to enjoy the event together before and after their volunteer time.
Chapter President Kimberly Tang said, “SAL members had the chance to socialize and enjoy an activity very characteristic to Austin, TX. It was great to really see and experience the cultural center of Austin.”
