The University of Alabama Birmingham Chapter is currently seeking additional officers for this academic year. Leadership Opportunities

The most engaging and active leadership roles are filling the role of a Chapter officer. This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Click here to read a brief description of each officer position.

Scholarships and Awards

Scholarships and Awards range from $100 to $5000 and are available for both undergraduate members as well as members furthering their academic endeavors through post-graduate study. Applications are available at the beginning of April each year and are due to the Scholarship Committee by the end of May. For more information, please view the Scholarship page.

Sigma Alpha Lambda officers at UAB enjoy spending time together serving or socializing. While exploring inexpensive things they could do together for fun, they decided to all attend a school basketball game and show some SAL spirit. (more…)

The UAB SAL Chapter participated in Be the Match, the National Bone Marrow Registry. This event was new to Sigma Alpha Lambda this year and proved to be a great success. (more…)

Ronald McDonald House Breakfast

The University of Alabama Birmingham Chapter made a difference in their community by cooking breakfast for the families staying at their local Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House is a place for families to stay while their child is receiving treatment at a hospital. They provide a number of services for families to help them during a difficult time.
