Leadership Opportunities

The most engaging and active leadership roles are filling the role of a Chapter officer. This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Scholarships and Awards

Scholarships and Awards range from $100 to $5000 and are available for both undergraduate members as well as members furthering their academic endeavors through post-graduate study. Applications are available at the beginning of April each year and are due to the Scholarship Committee by the end of May. For more information, please view the Scholarship page.

A recurring theme we are seeing with several of our chapters this year is gathering together or even using part of an already scheduled chapter meeting to make cards for hospitalized children and others that may not get to spend certain holidays in the way they would desire. (more…)

Jumpstart is a program that partners university students with young children in South End preschools to deliver an innovative early learning program to the children. According to their website, “every child is born with the potential to succeed, but studies have shown that children from low-income backgrounds start kindergarten 60% behind their peers.”¬†Jumpstart provides a high-quality, comprehensive program to develop children from low-income families to help them reach their full potential.¬† (more…)

Cradles to Crayons

The Boston University Chapter has made volunteering at Cradles to Crayons a yearly tradition. They get a group together and go to the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory to put together packages for low-income families in Massachusetts. (more…)
