SAL’s First Ever Spirit Day!
This year, we are celebrating 12 years of Sigma Alpha Lambda. We are very proud of our thriving honors and leadership organization and of what it means to belong to SAL. We wanted to share that on every campus where we have a chapter, so we had our very first ever Spirit Day on October 15.
For this new public event, members were encouraged to wear their SAL t-shirts and other gear to represent us on their campus. In preparation, the SAL Store featured excellent specials for Spirit Day attire. Chapters all over the country set up tables, passed out flyers, and shared giveaways with students who were interested in knowing more about who we are and what we do. The result wasn’t just shared knowledge about our organization. Others learned how they can help fight hunger, beat cancer, improve their grades, increase networking skills, and make a difference in their community.
Spirit Day was also a great way for others on campus to join in on the Food Fight Against Hunger. Some chapters took advantage of this time to collect nonperishable items from other students. Other chapters included social events into their Spirit Day, sharing goodies like ice cream and candy with potential new members. To view how several chapters participated, please read our Spirit Day Highlight on our web site. To see pictures from this year’s event, be sure to check out our Facebook album here.
If you weren’t able to participate in this month’s event, be sure to start planning now to join in on next semester’s Spirit Day on April 8, 2014!
