Who are we?
Sigma Alpha Lambda is a national leadership and honors organization with over 65 chapters dedicated to developing the individual and serving our community. We promote and reward academic achievement and unite members in the pursuit of a common goal through service and leadership.
Why should I consider becoming a member?
Networking
Members of Sigma Alpha Lambda enjoy camaraderie with like-minded students who share similar values and are focused on investing in their undergraduate experience and developing career-essential leadership skills.
Recognition
Sigma Alpha Lambda understands the importance of recognition as part of the complete member experience. As part of this recognition, membership includes a professionally designed certificate of membership, a personalized press release, and your membership pin or key. Personalized letters of recommendation are also available upon request. As your graduation draws near, graduation regalia may be purchased at our SAL Store.
Giving Back
Sigma Alpha Lambda is not only dedicated to developing each individual member, but also to serving our campus and our community. As a certifying organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award and through our involvement in Relay for Life, MLK Day of Service, and our annual Food Fight Against Hunger, our members are actively engaged in a variety of activities and service projects.
Scholarships and Awards
Members have the opportunity to compete for awards & scholarships that range up to $5,000 and have the opportunity to achieve recognition for outstanding accomplishments in Service, Academic Achievement, and Leadership.
Leadership Opportunities
The most engaging and active leadership role is filling the position of a chapter officer. This is an opportunity to develop hands-on experience in communication, project planning and execution, team building, and time management.
