This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Making Valentine’s Day Cards for Others In recognition of Valentine’s Day this month, several chapters got their creative juices flowing to share some love with those who may not be spending the holiday how they would prefer to this year.
SAL Tailgate The University of North Carolina Charlotte Chapter held a SAL tailgate on Saturday, September 27th, for the Charlotte 49ers football game against Charleston Southern University, also using the activity as a way to collect food items for the SAL Food Fight Against Hunger!
Toys for Tots & Tree Lighting Members of the UNCC Chapter of SAL love to participate in a wide variety of activities with their chapter. Toys for Tots is an annual event for them during which they volunteer with the United States Marines at Piedmont Town Center for a big toy drive and tree lighting event.
Dress for Success The University of North Carolina Charlotte had a great turn out when they attended a Dress for Success event at Macy’s. Eighteen members and 32 guests came out to participate. Dress for Success is an event put on by Macy’s where groups can come before the store opens to get professional makeovers and private shopping hours. This helped provide the Do’s and Don’ts of interview and business attire.
Bowl for Kids Sake The University of North Carolina Charlotte Chapter has become an annual participant in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Charlotte’s fundraising event, Bowl for Kids Sake. This event takes place all over the country to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters so that they can continue to impact the lives of children in need.
