The most engaging and active leadership roles are filling the role of a Chapter officer. This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Scholarships and Awards
Scholarships and Awards range from $100 to $5000 and are available for both undergraduate members as well as members furthering their academic endeavors through post-graduate study. Applications are available at the beginning of April each year and are due to the Scholarship Committee by the end of May. For more information, please view the Scholarship page.

UGA members took some time to participate in their university’s community garden! They took a tour of the large facility/garden area and moved/packed up items on the property. They also tended to different types of plants (cutting off dead leaves and other tasks). (more…)

Easter Egg Hunt
Every year, the University of Georgia Chapter lends a hand to the local Boys and Girls Club for their Easter Egg Hunt. Before the kids arrived, the members took bags of plastic eggs filled with candy and hid them. Once the kids arrived and the hunt began, the members monitored the kids as they searched for the eggs. New Member Welcome Ceremony
New member ceremonies are a great introduction to the chapter for members who have recently joined SAL. UGA and many other chapters across the country hold these annually in addition to their service projects and other initiatives. These ceremonies are a way for the new members to get plugged into the chapter and meet the other members, as well as a chance for them to learn what SAL is all about. (more…)
Food Bank Distribution of Athens, GA
Sigma Alpha Lambda at University of University of Georgia went to the Food Bank Distribution Center in Athens, GA. While there, SAL volunteers packed boxes with certain items and washed out bins that would be used for the food bank’s Food Drive in upcoming months. After their volunteer time was completed, members were able to tour the distribution facility. (more…)
