Habitat for Humanity ReStore

SAL Members at the University of Virginia Chapter helped make their local Habitat for Humanity ReStore a prettier place to visit. The members were interested in volunteering with the store because so many students frequent it. Habitat ReStore is run by Habitat for Humanity and is a place in town to find great bargains on quality new and used building materials and home furnishings. All the profits from the store go to building homes for those in the area.

The SAL volunteers’ main job was to create vignettes in the window, one for a living room set and the other to reflect the Christmas season. The members felt this was a great team-building event since they were working together to move furniture into the windows. They also decorated the store for the holiday.
