Kickoff Meeting & Service Project

Most SAL chapters get the school year started by holding a kickoff meeting for their members. Our University of Virginia Chapter combined their first meeting with a service project!

First, the officers provided members with the agenda of events that they plan to hold for the semester. Then, they dove into their first community service event of the semester! They made blankets for the animals at the SPCA animal shelter. They also had 3 raffle giveaways and pizza was provided for those gathered.

Chapter President Danielle Hester said of the event: “The activity went really well. We were surprised of having such a great turn out. I think members enjoyed having a hands on activity and that it was right off the bat! Definitely an activity that is worth doing again!”
