Goodie Bags for Hospital Children

The University of Alabama Chapter recently joined forces with another campus organization, combining a chapter meeting with a social and community service activity to make goodie bags for the children in the pediatric wing of the local hospital in Tuscaloosa.

After discussing Relay for Life, fundraising tips, future community service events and fundraising events, members and their counterparts from Phi Sigma Theta filled bags with pencils, bubbles and candy and also collected stuffed animals to give to the children. It proved to be a great opportunity to bond as members as well as see the impact working with other organizations can have.

According to Chapter President Ashley Greene, SAL members “enjoyed getting to know the members of Phi Sigma Theta while doing community service. It was very rewarding and all members enjoyed it.”
