Beat Auburn Beat Hunger 5k

Members of the University of Alabama Chapter registered and ran the Beat Auburn Beat Hunger 5k. Proceeds of this 5k go to Beat Auburn Beat Hunger, which provides food to families in the West Alabama area for the majority of the year. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members help by challenging Auburn University and the Food Bank of East Alabama to see who can collect more non-perishable food to help the needy. Since it was started in 1994, the competition has raised nearly 3 million pounds of food for Alabamians without enough to eat.

We are proud to say that the 5k was a hit for the University of Alabama Chapter and all of the members in attendance had a great time! Members even placed in their age group, with one member coming in first in her age division and another placing third! Great job, girls, and great job to the University of Alabama Chapter! Keep on fighting hunger!
