Embrace the Streets

The SDSU Chapter of SAL recently got out into their community to serve by going downtown with an off campus organization that feeds the homeless every Wednesday and Thursday!

SAL members helped out by preparing and distributing the food, and they helped the guests with picking out some clothes that they had donated. This has become an annual service project for the chapter because it is always a meaningful experience for those who participate!

Nydia Lopez, the SDSU Chapter President who works hard to provide members with a variety of chapter activities, had this to say about the event: “I think this was a great community service event. I think it was mostly everyone’s first time doing something like that, but they all were really happy with the experience. We also got to see new members and they really liked it.” Well done, SDSU members!
