Winterization

Helping others in the community is what SAL members do best! This year, the members at Purdue University participated in their school’s service initiative, Winterization. This is a day where students work together to winterize homes for people in the community who are unable to do so.

SAL members went to the home of an elderly person in the community to help him get his house ready for winter. This involved raking leaves, cleaning gutters and washing windows. The best part of the day for the members was getting to spend time with the people they were helping.

Overall, Purdue University students helped over 200 people this year! This event is a great way for students to give back to the community where they live and be able to meet some great people.
