Superhero Penny Wars

Fundraising is a great way for SAL Chapters to get creative and get people together for a meaningful cause. The Indiana University of Pennsylvania Chapter held a “Superhero Penny War”  competition  to raise money for both the American Cancer Society and their SAL chapter.

A table was set up on campus with 6 buckets for 6 different superheroes. As students passed by, they could help their favorite superhero win the competition by giving their favorite “positive points” and giving “negative points” to their least favorite. Positive points were pennies, and negative points were silver coins and dollar bills. As an added bonus, the winning superhero’s highest donor would receive a gift card to Dunkin’ Donuts.

By the end of the week, the winning superhero was Spiderman! The members had a great time running the booth throughout the week and were able to raise over $100!
