Leadership Opportunities

The most engaging and active leadership roles are filling the role of a Chapter officer. This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Click here to read a brief description of each officer position.

Scholarships and Awards

Scholarships and Awards range from $100 to $5000 and are available for both undergraduate members as well as members furthering their academic endeavors through post-graduate study. Applications are available at the beginning of April each year and are due to the Scholarship Committee by the end of May. For more information, please view the Scholarship page.

Bowling Social

During the Food Fight Against Hunger, Indiana State University became the first team to collect $500 to donate to their local food bank, an incredible victory! As a reward for their efforts, (more…)

Continuing the Fight in 2017

The Food Fight Against Hunger is the centerpiece of SAL’s fall volunteering. This year, 26 chapters worked SO hard to collect over 5,000 items and over $1,000 to fight hunger. (more…)

SAL Remembers

Each year, Sigma Alpha Lambda recognizes our heroes from September 11, 2001. Our Flag Memorial event is where chapters all across the country take over a popular area on campus and place flags with the slogan “Sigma Alpha Lambda Remembers.” (more…)

One of the best times for Sigma Alpha Lambda members to serve others is Valentine’s Day. This year, several chapters took the opportunity to spread cheer and love. (more…)


Light House Mission

The Indiana State University Chapter volunteered to help the staff serve dinner to the residents at the Light House Mission. They helped to peel apples and prepare the meal. Once it was ready, the members helped to serve the food to the 80 residents.



No ONE Left Behind

No ONE Left Behind is a campus wide event held at the Indiana State University to rally against sexual assault. Before the event, a Picture Day was held where pictures were taken of students with a “1″ on their hands. According to Karen Brenner, the organizer of the event, “The number 1 represents that anyONE can be sexually assaulted and everyONE should be helped and not left behind.” SAL members showed their support for this cause by posing for a picture with a “1″ on their hands.
