The most engaging and active leadership roles are filling the role of a Chapter officer. This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Scholarships and Awards
Scholarships and Awards range from $100 to $5000 and are available for both undergraduate members as well as members furthering their academic endeavors through post-graduate study. Applications are available at the beginning of April each year and are due to the Scholarship Committee by the end of May. For more information, please view the Scholarship page.

A recurring theme we are seeing with several of our chapters this year is gathering together or even using part of an already scheduled chapter meeting to make cards for hospitalized children and others that may not get to spend certain holidays in the way they would desire. (more…)
The Big Event Service Initiative
Each year, students across the country participate in the Big Event, a strategic and organized initiative that was created as a way for students to say thank-you to their local communities by performing acts of service. Several SAL chapters were a part of the movement this year. (more…)
Frozen Yogurt Night
SAL members at Texas A and M University recently followed up a chapter meeting with a profit share night at a local frozen yogurt eatery called Spoons, during which they were given a percentage of the evening’s profits. (more…)
The Texas A&M University Chapter of SAL helped out at the Weiner Fest, hosted by the Aggieland Humane Society, for the second year in a row! Every year, the Aggieland Humane Society hosts the Weiner Fest at Wolf Pen Creek Park in College Station, TX, as an adoption event for the shelter. (more…)
