The most engaging and active leadership roles are filling the role of a Chapter officer. This is an opportunity to develop hands on experience in communication, project planning & execution, team building, and time management. Elections occur once per year, typically in early spring. Scholarships and Awards
Scholarships and Awards range from $100 to $5000 and are available for both undergraduate members as well as members furthering their academic endeavors through post-graduate study. Applications are available at the beginning of April each year and are due to the Scholarship Committee by the end of May. For more information, please view the Scholarship page.

Monday Creek Restoration Project
SAL members at Ohio University showed they know how to put on their work gloves and get in the trenches. The Monday Creek Restoration Project is an organization dedicated to restoring and maintaining the watershed and the land area around it. Members worked on trail cleaning and restoring, trail marking, and cleaning up debris from the area. (more…)
Athens Beautification Day
The SAL chapter at Ohio University joined other students to “Keep Athens Beautiful” by participating in Athens Beautification Day. The day began with a pep rally featuring OU President Dr. Roderick McDavis and Mrs. McDavis, Athens Mayor Paul Wiehl, and Dean of Students Ryan Lombardi. Then groups of students headed off to their projects to work for a few hours. (more…)
Good Earth Farm
Sigma Alpha Lambda members at Ohio University volunteered at the Good Earth Farm in Athens, Ohio. The Good Earth Farm is an all-organic farm that donates all of its goods to local food banks. SAL brought a team of 19 members to help harvest potatoes. (more…)
